In the world of healthcare design, few projects leave a lasting emotional imprint—and this was one of them. We were honoured to design and build a luxury organ transplant floor for a reputed hospital in Parel, Mumbai, where the brief was unlike any typical medical space.
“We want it to look like a 5-star hotel, not a hospital,” the client said.
“Patients and their families should feel calm, mentally relaxed, and emotionally supported the moment they step in.”
That statement set the tone for everything that followed.

The Brief: Luxury Meets Healing
This wasn’t just a design job—it was about curating an experience. The hospital entrusted us with transforming an entire floor into a high-end, holistic recovery space that would include:
- 16 deluxe rooms
- 2 presidential suites
- Family lounges, conference zones, and private resting areas
All designed to look nothing like a hospital—and everything like a luxury sanctuary.
Designing the 5-Star Experience
1. The Look & Feel: Sophistication in Every Detail
- Italian marble flooring added timeless grandeur and sophistication.
- High-quality panelling, acoustic ceiling designs, and soft ambient lighting brought a cozy, intimate feel.
- Each suite featured plush custom furniture, special paint and curated artwork—more akin to a luxury residence than a recovery room.
- Good quality fabric soft furnishing
- Good murals, artefacts, and painting in open areas as well as in rooms
- Post-project additions included personal music systems and TV sets in each room.
2. Technology-Driven Comfort
- Smart lighting and climate control systems
- Touch-enabled control panels for patients and relatives
- Motorized blinds, hidden medical consoles, and integrated entertainment systems
- Premium beds with in-built monitoring systems, perfectly blending clinical precision with personal comfort
3. Home Away from Home—for the Family Too
- Separate rest rooms for family members—equipped with comfortable beds, attached washrooms, and soft lighting
- Private lounge area with luxurious sofas, coffee counters, and a peaceful ambience
- Dedicated conference room with AV facilities, so relatives could continue professional work without leaving the premises
- Family dining and pantry zone for a homely rhythm during their stay
- A gym and café on the same floor
4. Presidential Suites: Wellness in Grandeur
- Spacious interiors with walk-in wardrobes, private seating areas, and personal workstations
- Bathrooms designed with premium fittings and good lighting
- Personalized décor and hospitality-level service zones, designed to give the patient complete peace and dignity
The Result: Design That Heals
The feedback has been heartwarming. Over two years since completion, the hospital has seen:
- Higher patient satisfaction scores
- A positive recovery time
- An improved emotional response from both patients and caregivers
Families often express that the environment helped ease their emotional stress and allowed them to be more present and positive through the healing process. The hospital, in turn, proudly uses this floor as a model for future developments.
Conclusion:A New Benchmark in Healthcare Design
This project proves that when design meets empathy, and luxury is used with intention, healthcare spaces can become powerful enablers of recovery and emotional wellness.
This wasn’t just about rooms—it was about dignity, comfort, family, and healing. A true testament to how a well-designed environment can shift the entire energy of a medical space—from fear to hope.
